Their design is similar to the foil keyboards.
The front foils are built up of a special component graphical part and a spacer/adhesive layer. It closes the control unit hermetically, therefore it protects the electronics, which is often comprises micro-switches planted on panel.
Benefits:

- Aesthetic appearance.
- Increases lifetime of the switch panel with its mechanical protection.
- Its installation is simple (strong adhesive layer can be sticked on to most surface), requires a small space on front of the unit (total thickness from 0,2 mms).
- Hygienic, easy to clean user surface.
Graphic solutions:
Graphic design is made by using sieve printing and digital printing technology. Design foils can be realized by a variety of surface structures.
General foil types:
- Dull-velvet structure foil
- Finely structured fine-type foil
- Bright foils
Display windows:
- It is possible to make water clear window to dull foils (for displays). These windows have high hardness (high scratch resistance) and chemical resistance.
- Coloured (dull transparent and water clear transparent) windows, for LEDs and displays.
Keys embossing:
Buttons of the keyboard and the front foils can be made with different patterned and height embossing. The possible forms of design can be seen here.
Frame embossing
Normally the high of embossing is 0.3 mm. This is good touchable, easy produceable and suitable for general keypad constructions.
Surface / flat embossing

Normally the high of embossing is 0.5 mm. It has tactile effect, good touchable and suitable for general keypad constructions.
